Program Highlights

This program is for any shooting athlete who is looking to take their performance both on and off the range to the next level. Dr. Matt has worked with various levels of athletes from Juniors to Senior Open World Champions and Olympic Medalists for over a decade. He has broken down the essential physical skills and training programs that eliminate pain and made them successful. This is all delivered it to you through the SADP.

Your membership gives you access to a variety of training programs, accessed through the Train Heroic App. These. include a full gym program, home program, and/or mobility program. You'll receive access to the private community that is located right here within Kajabi. Your membership includes monthly live calls with Dr. Matt and the Rooted In MVMNT team, along with experts in the fields of shooting sports, nutrition, movement, strength and conditioning, and sports psychology. You will have access to all recorded calls, the movement library, podcasts, and self-paced courses on the foot and ankle, low back, and shoulder. 

Training sessions are about 45 minutes to an hour each day. Keep in mind that sessions may be longer in the beginning due to the need to watch videos and learn new patterns. The sessions are a mix of bodyweight movements and resistance exercises. You will need access to a gym with equipment for many, but not all, of the training sessions. 

Many of the movements in the beginning stages of each cycle will be teaching you how to move your joints through full range of motion against gravity without any equipment required. However, as the training program progresses, we will need to begin utilizing equipment like barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, pull up bars, bands, boxes, and benches to successfully and progressively overload your body for adaptation. Sometimes special equipment will be suggested based on unique individual needs. This will be covered on an individual basis if discovered during private assessments (scheduled separately). 

Each week is introduced by a custom video from Dr. Matt where he breaks down the expectations for each week. You are then given specific movements and workouts with demo videos that progress with you through each 12-week cycle. The structure of each week and day includes a warm-up, "strength" component, and skill work.

Dr. Matthew Zanis, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT, OCS, ATC, CSCS, owner of Rooted in MVMNT, is a human movement and vitality expert. Dr Zanis attained his bachelor’s in athletic training from the University of Pittsburgh and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Duke University. He is a strength and conditioning coach, orthopedic specialist, and fellowship trained in manual therapy. Dr. Zanis works with a broad demographic from Olympians, including the athletes of USA Shooting, to Navy Special Warfare and everyone in between. His vision is to create an awareness of new ways of working with the human body in rehabilitation, performance, and coaching circles, and bring that alive for strength and conditioning and rehabilitation professionals alike through a philosophy that is rooted in movement.
